“Infamy” by JustisThePoet
Even stars under spotlights cast shadows.
This one’s mine — the ‘Gemini Twin’ to “Fame”, a song on the same record.
Infamy runs the same race as Fame, but on a different axis. It chases impact over image + legacy over applause. The spotlight’s still in sight, but the real validation lives in personal circles. If that’s intact, radical is a route — even if it’s infamous.

The experience was “recalled” into being in Fall 2024, following Justis’ AlchemY ~ extending sonic storytelling through immersive visuals and printed letter-art. Each song in the record here is both a memory and a message in a bottle that says:
“. . . buried in the past, opened in the future . . .”
With audio textures that flutter like postage stamps across time zones, “Pens + Postcards” is wrapped in nostalgic blues, aurora greens, and the warmth of a matriarch’s home after she’s gone.
If you ask the Poet himself, he’ll say the album smells like grandma’s living room, feels like time travel, & sounds like someone whispering: “That felt like my childhood, too.”
And at its heart is a lyric that still breaks:
“If I got a Grammy, it’d be ‘cause my Granny would see me sometimes and tell me I’m great.”
~ from “Fame” by JustisThePoet
Other “Poet’s choice” standout lyrics:
“I wanna be the Captain Kirk they Trek, when they tryna Klingon…”
~ from “Infamy” by JustisThePoet
“Lessons from a brother to a brother …Some we learn from the world and some we learn from our mothers…”
~ from “Lessons (Brother 2 Brother)” by JustisThePoet

"Fame" wears the light well — but RARELY comes without heat.
&
"Infamy" doesn’t ask for light — it makes its own.
