Every [stitch] on the road to heal a broken [Heart]

Tone: Raw. Restorative. From (acoustic) breakup to blueprint.
OHS is the “soundscape” of [heart]break & [heart]build. Inspired by [JustisThePoet’s] most emotionally surgical body of work, it’s a blended “franken-stitch” of hearty unplugged guitar, looped acoustic ensembles, and spoken word precision. “Open [Heart] Surgery” doesn’t try to cure love
—but it does study scar tissue.
First the album chills, like a numbed pulse after loss. Gradually the blood warms again, from bruised reds to bright pinks—and if you listen closely, it beats:
Each track is a stage or “point in time” in healing: realization, rupture, reflection, and rhythmic recovery. On this record, the emotional scalpel is Justis’ own pen, and the stitch is the groove. Soundtracked by warm analog acoustics and stitched together by hands, piece by piece, OHS asks: “If a doctor heals a sick heart . . . what fixes a broken one?”
In this record, each track is an answer.
Poet’s choice standout lyrics:
“Glass House, cracks in the foundation . . . four walls and a roof & we called it salvation.” ~ from “Glass House” by JustisThePoet
“You’re lighting your fires with my oxygen.” ~ from “Glass House” by JustisThePoet
&
“Some days, I wait by the phone… I have company, but I’m home alone…” ~ from “Good Company” by JustisThePoet
